A change in the weather

What a difference a day makes. Amazing cloudage this morning, the mountains just peeping up above them and everywhere rich greens and russetts. Now (5.30pm) it's shocking, strong winds and torrential rain with worse to come around 9pm. This photo was taken around 9am.
Mostly we've been eating! Simone made some delicious teeny peanut butter cookies, another batch of the same, some courgette muffins (haven't tried those yet) and rustled up a delicious lunch of eggs Benedict. And now Joe is cooking. We also had a sneaky game of lunchtime srabble while Esme had a nap. Himself won. I wasn't allowed to use the word shite whereas duked was perfectly acceptable. Whoever uses the word duked?
We've also had two decent walks in between the rain. On the first we passed the most enormous tree I have ever seen, possibly a cedar. It was so huge I had to go and hug it.
The second walk I went alone along what's called the Straight Plain Road and it is, but I came back with pockets full of wild fennel and four walnuts. Simple pleasures.
