MCO day 26

Easter Sunday so we started with an egg hunt. There is now a lot of chocolate in the house. Even I got a box of truffles. There was some paddling pool action and eventually the girls and Wen went across to Chamomile to see Po Po and Gong Gong. There is a new Dyson cleaner which proved very popular. There was also masks, sanitiser and much hand washing.

Gordon got a new Surface for his birthday so he has spent a lot of time in his room lately setting it up and gaming. The X Box is there too and later there was much excitement as he and Olivia spent nearly an hour dancing.

It felt very fragmented today, people doing their own things to some extent. I sat on the balcony, alone, and sewed. It was so hot and humid. The girls were in and out of the pool a lot and later Wen and Amelia slept. Gordon had sunbathed earlier!

Gordon made dinner, lamb. We opened the Harris gin (my string measures) and had wine too. D phoned just before dinner. It was good to hear from him. I'm jealous of his walks on Troon beach.

Yes, been a funny kind of day. I even watched a few minutes of the service from At Andrew's Presbyterian Church in KL where Gordon and Wen had their marriage blessed.

The news at the end of the day about Tim Brooke-Taylor's death really affected. Brought up on 'The Goodies' and now a fan of Clue. So sad. And brings it home to me, I'm leaving a country of 33m which the highest infection rate in SE Asia that has had 4683 recorded cases with 76 deaths to return to a country of 66m that will probably have the highest death rate in Europe with 10612 recorded, that is 0.02% of the population.

26 days gone, 3 to go.
