Exercise

Today's walk was to Brockwell Park, the open space that was on the news last week for being so busy that the council closed it last Sunday. It's open again and the trees are in full blossom. It wasn't busy and though we walked on the grass, the paths weren't crowded with bikes/joggers/skaters. We saw one group playing rounders but that's exercise of a sort and the young folk could have lived together – we can't judge. As it was, there were a couple of hi-vis chaps having chats with people who were sitting on the grass, usually alone. I confess we were amused to see a couple of guys who had been sitting on the grass suddenly start to do press-ups. They stopped once the hi-vis guys walked on.

The sun was really warm today and very welcome. I'm glad the park wasn't busy and people were being sensible – it means it will stay open for the time being.

I had a fun video chat with a friend in Aberdeen and shared puzzles and shopping stories.

I listened to Rob Auton's podcast in the evening and was touched by this story: The Mouse and the Alien. He's a wonderful comedian and storyteller and I was looking forward to seeing him in a month's time. I'll be there for whenever he reschedules.
