Bluebells

Hiacinthoides hispanica. Spanish Bluebells. These have broader leaves than the British Bluebell and the flowers come from from both sides of the stem.
The British Bluebell is a more delicate plant and the flowers all come off one side of the main stem.

I have seen many Bluebell woods in my life but I have no doubt that the finest I have ever seen was in Galloway in south- west Scotland. We visited it last May and I will never forget it.
