Once a bank, now a pub!

A cold day today with not even a hint of sunshine. Our walk around the town this afternoon was done more for exercise than pleasure! Instead of Blipping a boat I've Blipped a pub, 'Coasters' in Alexandra Road, part of the Esplanade in Oban.

At one time this pub was the Bank of Scotland and those of you who have seen the 1959 film 'Bridal Path', starring the late Bill Travers, will recognise it as the branch where he drew out most of his savings after coming to the mainland from his island home in search of a wife!

Quote of the Day:

Daniel Farson, 'The Man Who Wrote Dracula', (quoting Bram Stoker) - "I often felt chagrin at the thought that we English can never repay in any similar way this expression of American hospitality."
