Quite a beakful!

I went to the castle on my walk today and spotted this beautiful song thrush.  I haven't seen one around here for a long time as their numbers have dropped a lot.

I watched it for quite a while as it walked around looking for worms.  First it found a large grub and then a long earthworm.  It took ages trying to get the grub in it's beak and then wind the worm around to hold that at the same time. At last it managed it and flew away, it must have chicks to feed.

I then saw a pair of pied wagtails.  One was walking around amongst the ducks (they get fed every day) and it's mate was sitting on a branch over the moat (extra).

I also saw long tailed tits and a chiffchaff so quite a birdie morning!
