An ordinary life....

Stripey Socks

What a beautiful blue sky, sunny day it's been.

Lay in till 9am was still awake at 3.30am....not with insomnia but reading my old diaries.  Lights out midnight at the latest tonight!

Guy came to service Alan's hoists today.  They have to be checked and passed fit for use every 6 months.

The company we have the contract with to check them refused to send anyone out.  They've put no special procedures in place in consideration of the change in circumstances, they're just refusing to come out.  Absolutely ridiculous as they are an essential service and strictly speaking, if the hoists are not checked and passed as fit, then Alan's support team are within their rights to refuse to use them!

Well it's their loss as we found another company who were much more professional in their approach so guess who has the contract now?

We had a lovely, leisurely lunch sitting in the garden.  So lovely to be sitting under blue skies and warm sunshine.  We were commenting on how Lola has matured over the last year.  She was content to have a wee wander then come and lie at our feet.  This time last year she would have been digging and picking up small stones from the water feature and generally needing lot of supervision.  So much more relaxing with her now.

After lunch David and Lola headed out for their daily exercise and I came inside to finish the Wee Chookie Birdie I'm painting for my friend Karen.

There are two things you can learn about Karen from my little birdie...first of all she likes vodka a dirty girl's drink in my opinion.  Gin is much classier ;-)) and she likes to wear stripey socks.  Oh three things actually...her hair is a bit wild! :-)   David says it looks like she missed out on the legs class at the gym!  Going by the Birdie that is, not her real life legs!  :-))  I hope she likes it!

Dinner now and hopefully some blip time then back to the diaries.  1987 here I come (and no need for a DeLorean! :D )

P.S. I've put my Chookie Birdie process in extras.
