Ash Update

A month ago I blipped an emerging Ash bud - and an ugly thing it was. We went back to see how it had progressed in that time. We were a little too late as the silks were turning brown, so this is another on the same tree.

Whilst in the park we walked the few yards up to the Chestnut to check on the bud emerging from the bare trunk, that appears as the extra (note the addition of the spider).

Blips in the bag camera, we walked over to the lower reaches of the Mortonhall Golf course, rather concerned to see half a dozen dead bumble bees over a stretch of 100m or so, close to the gorse, and wondered what the greenkeepers were putting down. Ironically, a short distance away is a palatial bug house.
