The Spell Songs

During this period of social distancing and with schools closed, I have been running 'Grandad's School' for my four grandchildren who live in Seattle and West Yorkshire. We are currently using 'The Lost Words' and 'Spell Songs' by Jackie Morris and Robert MacFarlane as a source of inspiration and resource. With the music by a group of folk musicians there are endless ideas and lines of enquiry to follow, as well as exploring the natural world around us. For those at a loss for photographic ideas then there is no better place to start. We us Zoom to enable us to meet up and share pictures and music from various sources. 
As a footnote we saw our first swallows of the year early this morning hungrily swooping across a small disused reservoir.
