Cherry Tree Reflections

This week in Nature Studies, we'll look each day at one of our senses; today was sight. We walked round Rectory Park, and came at the Duck Pond from a new direction (took the kids a while to realize where we were), seeing what we could see. Found a dramatic new flower by Fritillary Pond, a columbine, apparently. Then we all had to decide what sight was our favourite; this was mine... shame I cut the drake's head off, it was swimming very fast.

The kids both chose a sparrow that we looked at in a hedge, chirping away; Zion said he'd never looked at a wild bird that closely before. Love that, for them, a sparrow is just as exciting as any other bird.

What was the best thing you saw today?

Gratefuls:
will do later... gotta eat dinner!

Back again...
- dinner was pretty good, tuna fishcakes and mushy peas, I love mushy peas
- sunshine again, though the wind was cold, but I actually prefer that
- Zion getting into his first Narnia book
