Keeping A Distance

Although I'm not a fan of geese (who is?) and I know that in a few weeks there will be flocks of them, I respect they are rather touchy at the moment. I was framing my shot, looking through a gap in the trees, when they sauntered into view. Of course once I decided they should be in the frame, they wouldn't keep still where I wanted them.

Another windy day, but warm and sunny. A longer focal length and fairly shallow depth of field keep the foreground twigs in focus and, I think, draws attention to the light beyond, streaming from the left, which is my real subject in this image.
