Festooned

Loved the combination of rich textures and colours in this damp woodland scene next to the water. I suppose the wet conditions and the decaying tree provide a habitat for the fungi to grow, but I'm no expert.

Despite an overcast day, the white fungi are quite hard to photograph because they reflect the bright sky, but I think I recovered the highlights enough to show some decent detail. I love the green moss and orange leaves in combination, although I tried to give most emphasis to the fungi which is after all the subject.
