The Tuesday "Run"

Not having to be back for the pub for 12:30 means the "Tuesday Run" can be longer than I could manage in 2 hours. After taking Mr P up to the top of Hemp Rake I needed a refreshment stop.  This is the cross in Crosthwaite that marks the fact that the name of the village is old Norse for "clearing with a cross". The local wisdom is that the original "cross" was placed in 7th C by Anglican monks after the area had been settled by Norsemen. This is a replica placed in 2000 to mark the legend.  Picture of me on Hemp Rake, where it was extremely windy, in extras. Total walk 12.4km, 343m of climb, nearly 4 hours with 2 refreshment stops and 16,000 paces.

Day 33
823 deaths in UK hospitals up to 17,337 of which 1529 have been in Cumbria. The Harrogate Nightingale Hospital opened today. Dentists are short of PPE and tales are emerging of patients extracting their own teeth. My dentist has rescheduled my May appointment to August. Mr P's car needs an MOT but the government are giving people 6m leeway to get the test done
