Fantail on a Maple branch

This maple tree was glowing red in the sun today. Just gorgeous!
And then I was joined by a very friendly fantail - piwakawaka.

It’s ANZAC Day in New Zealand & Australia today (Australia and New Zealand Army Corp.) - remembering the soldiers & nurses, and what they’d done for all of us in the World Wars. Under the banner of Lest We Forget, Kiwis marked ANZAC Day keeping within the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, and celebrating in heartfelt creative ways.
