ANZAC Day ...

..... ..... ..... in Australia & New Zealand today, in memory of the terrible war fought by the Australia & New Zealand allies, against the Turks in WW1. There was dreadful loss of life on both sides, at Gallipoli. I visited the site once, in 2009, and was very moved by being there & picturing the awful scenes.
ANZAC stands for Australia & New Zealand Army Corps.

There’s a strong bond between Australia & New Zealand, and ANZAC Day is a National holiday in both countries. Last year people acknowledged ANZAC Day at dawn, at the end of their driveways, because of the pandemic. This year, thousands went to Dawn Services, all over the country.
