Buds and Blossom

Two apple trees bloom profligately just beyond our fence. We think we're responsible in that we used to throw apple cores in that direction. The apples are splendid both as eaters and for cooking  - in the Autumn.

Sunshine gave way to much needed gentle rain today. I took this from the door of the bedroom.

The azaleas in the special patch curated by the former manager of Charnwood Parks and Gardens look wonderful, even in, especially in, the rain.

Basil and I didn't go far today but that didn't matter. We both appreciated getting out.

Today's big event was that the manager of Shepshed Volunteer Bureau delivered the 25 books by Andrea Camilleri that I bid on, successfully, the other day. Len says that most of them don't even look to have been opened. Shepshed is missing out on the Montalbano tales.

Today's haiku:

just beyond the fence
between garden and the school
apple blossom blooms
