Fairy Moth Dewing Orbs

When it rains and turns cold at this time of year I think positive. If I am able to find bugs to photograph they're docile and easy to capture, even though the light isn't great. Also they are often attractively covered in or amongst rain droplets.

I knew where to find weevils and crickets and got watery shots of them but my favourite is this male fairy longhorn moth. Poor thing was still clinging to the grass stem hours later. (PS And it was still there the following morning.)

I've added an image of coltsfoot seedheads to extras. They look like delicate, powder-puffy dandelion clocks when it's dry but wet they put me in mind of Boris. :)
