Covered Bridges of Maryland

Over the last 200 years, Maryland has had 120 covered bridges that came and went and today only seven remain.  Four are north of Baltimore and three are in Frederick County which is the county to the north of ours, Montgomery.

We woke this morning just itching to get out of the house and go somewhere.  Last week I had researched a driving tour of these bridges and we decided today was the day.   The weather was quite overcast with sprinkles of rain, but we went anyway.

This is the Roddy Road bridge, the smallest and the one that had the poorest reviews for photo ops.  Well, I beg to differ.  I liked this one the best and was quite pleased with this photo.  The bridge had been recently painted and repaired so it was looking quite nice.

Apparently the Senate is coming back to town.  The House of Representatives is not because the House physician has said it is too early.  Cases in DC are still going up and if they come back the entire Capitol will have to be completely staffed putting everyone at risk.  It seems the Republican led Senate is choosing to ignore that risk and warning.

Today we broke 1 million cases in the U.S.  Who knows where this will end.

Covid 19 as of 4/28/2020 -
Montgomery County  4003 confirmed cases, 201 deaths
Maryland  20,113 confirmed cases, 797 deaths
U.S.   1,035,240 cases,  58947 deaths
