Spring Gold

Another day in lockdown...

We left for our daily exercise rather later than intended, so no time to go as far as we would have liked. Walked by the Wooler Water as far as Turvelaws Farm, and back by the road. The track by the river was busier than expected, and we encountered several dog walkers and a jogger - at a distance of course. Not one car on the usually-busy Berwick road though. Nice to see lots of bats flitting around by the river.

Bought the Dicentra formosa 'Spring Gold' just after we moved to the flat, thinking that it was the same variety of dicentra that had been in the garden of a previous abode. I was particularly fond of it, and rather disappointed as the 'Spring Gold' is similar but not the same - the flowers are a subtly different colour. But it provides a lovely splash of late-spring colour, and the leaves are an amazingly vivid green.
