"When Fishes Flew ...."

Actually the world during this pandemic is nearly as strange as it was when GK Chesterton's donkey was born.

We startled Jack heron while he was fishing this morning. I have photographed herons in flight often but this is the first time I've captured one flying with a fish in its bill.

I got a shot of a red-legged partridge strutting in a carpet of cherry blossom petals by the lake. I haven't seen one of these at home for years.

The latticed heath moth was flitting in exactly the same place as I photographed my first last year. (Extras)
