Update

Started the day with another in my Gerry Anderson vehicles series.

Discovered the reason why Dinky produced the first run of S.H.A.D.O. Mobiles in olive green rather than light metallic blue. Not (as was the case with their blue Thunderbird 2 models) because they didn't have any colour photos to work from, but because (it is assumed) they thought the military coloured vehicle would continue to sell after the show ceased airing. To be honest, I owned the olive green Dinky toy and I preferred the S.H.A.D.O. Mobile in that colour to the light metallic blue version in the show. Still an awesome vehicle, though.

Apparently, Dinky was in dire financial straits at the time and a few years laters the company was taken over by Matchbox. I'm glad I owned the olive green version because soon after that run sold out they produced a dreadful dark blue S.H.A.D.O. Mobile. But take a look at this Code 3 S.H.A.D.O. Mobile that might have been. Awesome.

1980? If only .....
