Delivery

The completion of my raised bed has been on hold as I was waiting for a delivery of top soil and compost. I eventually found someone who could deliver (Wickes) and they delivered at lunchtime, kindly leaving the items inside the garden by the side of the garage. I've added them to the raised bed - not quite as much topsoil as I'd hoped - so difficult to judge when ordering items online. 

Day 50 / Day 42 of Full Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 288 to 28,734 (still beware of low reported figures on Sun and Mon), Italy up 195 to 29,079 (Italy was the first country to impose a nationwide lockdown and today it started easing restrictions), Spain up 164 to 25,428. In France, some retesting of blood taken from respiratory patients in December has shown one positive CV case on 27th Dec. Testing yesterday was 86,186, still below the target. New cases were said to 'need to come down further'.The TUC says it can't back the draft guidelines for getting people back to work due to gaps. The daily briefing focused on the Test, Track and Trace pilot in the Isle of Wight, with the new app being available to download by NHS staff on Tues and the wider public on Thurs - assurances were given on privacy. A question was asked about papers linking air pollution to clusters of CV - this was said to be of interest and will get back on it. 6.3M have been furloughed per HMRC, costing £8bn to date and covering 800,000 employers. An antibody has reportedly been found which prevents CV from infecting human cells. ONS survey shows a surge in anxiety levels. NHS Nightingale in London is to be put on standby in the next few days as no longer needed. Tonight is the first of 4 small ITV dramas called Isolation Stories, filmed by actors' families in their own house.
