About to turn

Peas

Overnight, the little pea plants curled their tendrils around the trellis string. Hedgie is looking on.

Walked the hill tonight with W. - he'd gone into the office and didn't get home til late, so it was a twilight walk. It was very quiet - the only sounds our footfalls and the wind through the trees. The family at the top (where the informative six-year-old lives) was curled up on the front porch, watching the hills and laughing with someone over Zoom or FaceTime. On the way down the wind died to a whisper and we could hear crickets, tree frogs, a fox barking, and an owl. The moon was bright enough to cast shadows.
