Summer

One swallow doesn’t make a summer, so they say. I saw these two for the first time this year, together on a wire, basking in the early morning light. So it must be summer...although, given that we had a heavy frost, these two must have been worried that that had got their dates wrong!

We have had some interesting conversations with our daughter today in the light of the revelations that France has retested some swabs taken from patients in December and they have been positive for COVID-19. Around about Christmas she and several of her work colleagues were laid low by a ‘flu like’ illness with all the symptoms currently associated with COVID (including breathing difficulties and dry, persistent coughing) but it was not quite like a normal flu. It took weeks to clear up and left them all fatigued. Of course no one had heard of this illness then (at least not that the government are telling us) and so there was no testing for COVID. None of this group has suffered in the current ‘pandemic’ whilst other colleagues have fallen ill. They are now wondering if they actually had the disease back then.
