Salute to the front-line workers!

Thursday
The Ohio National Guard performed a fly-by this morning over the regions’ hospitals, in honor of all the medical professionals and other front-line workers, using two F-16 fighters. We live fairly close to Bethesda North Hospital so we figured we should be able to see them from our back garden, which indeed proved to be the case - they came pretty much right over head!
After a cool start, it was forecast to be quite warm and sunny, so we decided to go a bit further afield, to Boone County in Kentucky, and take a picnic with us. We had started this trail a couple of years ago, but we had to cut it short due to an approaching thunderstorm. It was really quiet out on the trail, I think we only saw about four other people. We got a bit confused at one point with where the trail went, but we eventually found our way back to the car! It was just the two of us today, as Laura was out with a friend. I’m putting a collage in extras of some of the wild flowers we saw.
Our Ohio governor announced the next phase in opening up the economy. The big news, starting May 15 we can finally get our hair cut!! Restaurants will also open in two phases, beginning May 15, with various distancing measures in place. Still no word on libraries or gyms - the latter being understandable since there is so much touching of equipment that takes place. As for restaurants, I think we’ll be sticking to take away for now, when we want a break from our own cooking!
Tomorrow is going to be much cooler, and wet, with temperatures dropping throughout the day, before dipping down below freezing at night!! Brrr! Who hijacked our Spring?!
