Cardinal Singer

I've been trying for a cardinal pic for a while now. We have a pair that frequent our backyard. I'm convinced they live nearby. 

My wife and I were sitting in the backyard tonight and I was taking some photos of the ducks swimming and feeding in our pool. They seemed quite comfortable having us nearby. The water on the tarp is pretty shallow since I've been trying to get it pumped out so we can finish filling it and get it opened soon, so the ducks were quite active eating whatever is is they eat off the bottom.  Suddenly Mr. Cardinal broke out into song and I was able to catch him mid note, sitting in the redbud tree. Sorry ducks, you're the extra today.
