VE Day

No surprises about what the main topic has been over here! The muted 75th Anniversary of VE Day celebrations has been good to watch - whenever any clips were shown. G made the lemon drizzle cake and scones for 4 o'clock tea. And now, I think I've got to stay awake until midnight to hear the Queen's address for the occasion.

We "attended" a couple of services in the morning, and watched the movie "Goodnight, Mister Tom" in the afternoon. I'd never seen it before. It was very sobering. I haven't looked up when it was filmed, but it seems John Thaw has always been old!

Nice to see the flame tree outside the window with nearly ten flowers now. I think it will explode over the next few days!
