flowers, tears, dance, and rain

This morning we got a lovely bouquet from ..... <drum roll>.... Prince Samuel. They come with a lovely Mother's Day note.

I've planted a number of basil plants and three pepper plants. Tonight it will freeze. I know that this means you put a blanket on top and hope. What I don't know is what you do if it freezes and rains at the same time....so I put a plastic container on top of them and then towels. Is this a good move?

A lovely person is dying. Young people have been getting colon cancer at increasing rates and because it is so unusual it isn't typically identified and treated until late. She has been living her fullest, traveling to places she loves, visiting family and friends, and dancing as much as possible. She has been teaching all of us, as she goes through the treatment process, how to live to the fullest and be where your feet are. No one can visit her in hospice so she or her husband set up some Zoom sessions for goodbyes. They played music to get people to dance. No words, just music, just dancing, a little crying. People were uncomfortable dancing at first but they eventually understood that this was wanted and appropriate and then some of her friends showed us how it is really done and by the end mothers had their children in their arms, dancing to the camera. Now we can remember her with dance and she can remember us with dance.
