Photos from A Field

The evenings are starting to lengthen now.

It’s 22:30 and dusk can still be seen in the west. It will keep getting later and later that the light continues in the sky. By about June 21 the sun will hardly disappear completely at all. The time between dusk and dawn will be very short.

And then?

And then it will start getting darker earlier again. And autumn will come. And then winter...

But let’s not rush things shall we?

For now it is all enough.
We are grateful for the light, and a place to lay our heads at night. Thankful for food and work to do. Glad for people who care enough about us to check on us.

In the challenging seasons of life I’ve learned that it is good to stop and remember the truths of one’s life. In other words, stop and count the blessings.

Turns out I am a blessed man indeed.
