Bluebells

An afternoon walk up to the Common, by the direct route. MrM was keen to try and spot the very young (kit) squirrel I saw on Wednesday, but no luck today. Very little wildlife around at all, apart from six or seven large rats scurrying about under one of the feeders by the main path. Lots more people than there have been of late, though.

On the way home we passed several small tea parties in full swing in people's gardens to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We remembered but, somehow, a celebration didn't seem right under present circumstances. So far, over 30000 people in Britain have died of Covid-19, and we have a Tory government that is breaking up the NHS, and is hell-bent on railroading us out of the EU...
