Curves & Hillocks

The last fine day for a while and we went as far north on the South Island as is possible, arriving in Wharariki just before Farewell Spit. It's a long drive down a dirt track then a longish walk through this astonishing country which for some reason reminded me of an exotic Dorset landscape. Then you arrive at the beach - massive sand dunes, pure white sand and impressive rocks and cliffs. See Himself ascending a mega dune. There were five other people around, little specks in the distance - what space and freedom. We ate a rustic picnic amongst the dunes then marvelled at the myriad black swans on the sea as we drove home.
