Back to winter?

After yesterday's lovely weather, which led to a long afternoon working in the garden, the weather turned out as predicted. That made the RSE quite a challenge. At 8 the wind was blowing and the rain was raining but I did decide that I needed to get out and by the time I did, at 9, the rain has stopped and it wasn't that cold as long as you had the right clothes on.

I walked up through St Katharine's Park to a pretty empty Tesco for some supplies. Now the sun is trying to come out. Hopefully the better weather will return.

New from Malaysia, the slightly relaxed conditions have been extended by a month to early June, but the advice is still not to go out unless necessary. Clusters are still being tested and tracked but some interstate travel is being allowed so that married couples (and children) who live and work in different states can see one another (not the situation here where such travel has never been restricted). Overseas travel is still restricted, no foreigners in, no Malaysians out and returning Malaysians having to complete 14 days quarantine in a quarantine centre. They have fewer than 7000 cases, 106 deaths and a recovery rate of over 75%. It will be interesting to hear what BJ says tonight, but I'm with NS and I share her indignation about the lack of prior warning of the English changes.

Now off for some deep breathing - sustained anger really isn't good for anyone.

24 days, many to go.
