Lockdown Day 49

The forecast for today was rain, but luckily it passed us by, although tonight the wind has built up and it's pretty wild out there!   We went out for a walk with the boys after breakfast and stopped off at the Co-op on the way back to pick up a couple of bits.

Once home we both felt a bit lethargic, I guess it's down to the weather.  I tidied the house and Alan did some more stuff on Bertie, but other than that we haven't done much at all.  We had an early dinner and were ready to watch Boris; announcement of the next steps which are as follows:

If we can't work from home, we're to go back to work from tomorrow - but we should avoid public transport and walk, cycle or drive; from Wednesday we're encouraged to do unlimited exercise outdoors; sit in the sun in our local park; drive to other locations and play sport - but only with members of our household; in phase 2, from 1st June at the earliest, shops may be able to open and a phased return for primary schools; and Phase 3, at the earliest July  some bars, restaurants etc., may be able to open.

So his message is very confusing,  particularly about being able to drive to other locations - I'm not stupid enough to think I can drive up North next weekend for mum's birthday, but he hasn't stipulated that you must still remain local and I think it's open to abuse, particularly as people have already been driving miles to the beach.  Anyway, there will be a discussion in parliament again tomorrow apparently, so maybe we'll get a clearer picture then.

As for my blip, we came across this psychedelic Rolls Royce in Rottingdean.  They have a website so I googled and found that it's a 1978 Silver Shadow Mark II which they had painted last year and which is available to hire.  They followed in the footsteps of John Lennon who had a psychedelic Rolls Royce in 1965 and based it on the colours and vibe of the 1967 'Summer of Love'.  It's pretty cool!
