Red Valerian

One of the most common wildflowers round here at present, in gardens, on walls, cracks in the pavement ... anywhere it can get a root down.    These are in the garden at the bungalow.   Introduced from the Mediterranean in the 1600s it rapidly became naturalised and is a good source of nectar for bees, butterflies and moths.

Another day of cleaning at the bungalow.  The hard floors look better after four washes each and the kitchen cupboards are much less offensive now!   A new kitchen would be nice but for now it's about making good what we have ..... paint may be employed!    Meg, who takes a little while to get used to new places, is much more settled there now.
