Study

I walked all the way up to the top of our barrio this evening for a view of the sea, and came back with this photo. I may have another go at blipping the view.

It poured with rain from about 6 a.m. (wet cat on the bed at 7), but by the time we finished our Spanish lesson at 2:30 the sun was shining brightly enough to encourage us to eat lunch outside (having put on extra clothes). Soup, a chicken and mushroom fricassee made by S, cheesecake for afters.

Afterwards I finished The Mirror and the Light. It may be a bit over-padded in the middle, but the last 80 pages have to be read in one sitting, heart in your throat even though you've known from page 1 what the outcome is. Who but Mantel can write of a beheading from inside the head of the person being beheaded, and convince you that it's true?
