Pre-concert photo session this afternoon. Yesterday's disaster definitely concentrated minds. I am happy to report that Anthony overcame his nerves and only made a couple of small mistakes easily recovered from. And we gave an assured and triumphant performance of Toward the Unknown Region.

The venue was the lovely Domaine Bonnafous in Villesèque. The room was packed and extra chairs were required. We've been hosted by the association before, and we knew the rather long post-concert wait while they cleared chairs and carefully laid out food, wine and fresh garden flowers would be worth it: a massive spread of delicious home-made canapés and cakes. Followed by mass singing of Occitan anthem Se Canto (not quite as mass as in the video I've linked to but with very elegant harmonies).

It was 8 o'clock by the time we left, driving back through the Corbières on a gorgeous bright, breezy* evening with the vines glowing in the low sunlight. A lovely outing that more than made up for yesterday.

* our "breeze" would be considered a howling gale in most other parts of the country.
