Saved by a Whisker

Today we met up with E, our friend a few floors up, for Rosato (Italian sparkling rosé) on the lawn. Since beginning March we’ve only spoken through closed doors, from the balcony, or on the phone.

This silly bumble bee was attracted to something on the grass, despite being surrounded by some beautiful blooms. Could have easily trodden on it by mistake So here he is for Admirer’s Silly Saturday.

E brought a selection of toothpick nibbles, vegan Wieners, herby tofu, sweet peppers snd grapes. Very thoughtful of him as he is otherwise an animal eater.

We had a chat about this and that. Mainly about food. We have a common interest there. Planning a repeat meet tomorrow pm.

I kept an eye on E and Mr B, otherwise doubt they’d have maintained the 2m distance.

In other news a mass anti-lockdown demo was planned over the weekend, here and elsewhere. According to the local rag, it didn’t seem to materialise

And the head of Bournemouth Council gave cyclists one last chance to ride carefully on the Promenade. The number of cyclists out there is steadily increasing, but Bournemouth really doesn’t have wide enough roads or space to accommodate them all. And the main problem Is a large number who, speed, skim past from behind, weave through pedestrians, don’t leave a safe distance between pedestrians and themselves.

I’m all for cycling, but not when it is a danger to others. Apparently ambulances were called to cycling incidents, involving pedestrians, on the promenade on 3 occasions 2 weeks ago!
