Lilac and Fig

A breezy day, and I never left the confines of the grounds after fetching the Saturday papers (danger: klaxon alert). I then became a danger to life within the garden - time to get the watering can out and get some nematodes doing their nematodey business on the tattie bed.
What covid news today, MrP? Well, much thought of fearfulness - prompted in part by Grace Dent’s piece in the Guardian. It may well be that restrictions will eventually be lifted on restaurants and bars … but will people come back? ("Britain feels divided into those who are ready for freedom and raring to forget Covid-19, and those who will never forget"). The Chancellor may withdraw support, but how many can keep going if only 10% of customers deem it safe to do so.
Evening: a holiday in Tuscany with an unlikeable middle class group from a couple of families - Unrelated by Joanna Hogg from 2007. A really enjoyable little watch. Mussolini’s sofa. That’ll stay with me.
