Secret Path

I was more ambitious for our walk today, going down through Greenbank to Craiglockhart Hill East, involving several stretches of rising ground
I took various photos along the way (see collage 1), including a Carder bee (Bombus pascuorum) (probably male) feeding on Green Alkanet (Pentaglottis sempervirens), which is quite common round here - in fact we passed a front garden completely covered in it.
We sat for a rest and snack on the hill, admiring the view, returning through trees (with a wonderful den) to see Old Craighouse wearing a face mask (extra 2) then found a verdant 'secret' path on West side of Greenbank Drive (main picture and map) above the the steep road to the cut-through back to Greenbank. This is now called Ashy Path, which was appropriate when I used it walking to work at the City Hospital, but it now boasts a tarmac finish.
It was a much warmer day but pleasantly breezy, cloudy after the earlier rain.
