Red Headed Cardinal Beetle

Mrs madwill spotted this beautiful beetle on our raspberry bushes this morning. I was cooking breakfast at the time - and just left everything in the oven/pan and rushed out with a camera to grab a shot. Back in time for a nice mini-English breakfast  - bacon (1 slice), black pudding (half a slice), tomato(small), mushrooms, beans and an egg…. lovely.

Some slightly worrying news today - youngest granddaughter has had a raised temperature overnight and is quite poorly. Consultation with the 111 service and a doctor has resulted in them all being quarantined for fourteen days… not ideal with small children. We are hoping that it is just a generic ‘childhood virus’ and not COVID19. Unfortunately they won’t test her as she is under five! Fortunately for them they did a ‘big shop’ yesterday so should be OK for food!

Have spent some time shifting quarantined food and drink from the garage to the kitchen and having a bit of sort out. We appear to have a lot of tinned tomatoes….

My garden shredder decided to blow up today when I switched it on - sadly it is so old that there are no spares available. Can’t decide whether to replace it….
