Life through the lens...

Special Delivery!

Certainly heard the loud knock on the door.
I went to investigate , and guess what was there in the doorstep.
I only ordered this case of wine at 5pm yesterday. That’s service for you, and a smiling Rob Hoult was half way up the path.
He has a wonderful shop and wine bar in Huddersfield. ( if you are in the area when this is all over give it a try)see map.
At the moment he is very busy doing local deliveries.

This is our favourite white wine.
“ In the farthest flung corners of the Cape lie gnarly, old, national treasures. - ancient vines once farmed with Percheron draft horses,
( 16 hands high) both now a rare breed”
We actually visited the vineyards when we were in South Africa a few years ago, and saw the horses which are still used today.
( will put one of my photos on as an extra)

Percheron. Chenin Blanc/ Viognier celebrate this harmonious marriage of nature.
“ Richly aromatic on the nose with vibrant white stone fruit flavours and pure balanced finish”.
For me it is a fruity, fresh, and absolutely yummy wine. Fabulous for summer drinking.
Serve slightly chilled, but not too cold.

Will be perfect with our meal tonight.
Flambéed chicken with asparagus.
A recipe copied from Goodfood magazine more than 10 years ago. I think it is was a Mary Berry seasonal recipe.
