A day in the life

Forest walk

Our little facebook group, the "Walking group" had another meeting today when we decided to do a walk in one of the really old forests some twenty kilometres inland from the coast on the mainland side. The forest is very varied both in diversity of tree species and how the forest is used. Most of it is used for production so we passed through areas where it had been newly harvested as well as large areas of untouched ancient forest.

The walk went along a seven km path around and between an area of five lakes. The walk can't be described in short sentences, we were all very taken by the experience. Maybe made bigger because it had rained during the night and morning so the smell was "saturated" from wet soil, moss, the lakes and tree leaves. My two pictures is a small representation of a couple of the highlights from the walk: the lakes and some of the 1060 species of moss in Sweden. Come and visit me and I will take you there for a walk. You can look at the area here in Google maps. 56.592622, 15.736227
