New herbs

I always intended to write a daily journal here but never succeeded! Today it's exactly ten months since we moved to our new home, here in County Durham, so it seems a good day to begin! Sunshine today after two days of wet and 50mph winds so outside this morning to start a new herb garden, which I've been itching to do since the seeds arrived on Saturday.
Had a zoom call this afternoon with Tom and Katie (son and wife) and the grandchildren and daughter Charlotte for a joint biscuit making session! We made little shortbread biscuits and they all turned out ok and provided a couple of hours entertainment for the little ones too! Zoom has been such a boon to keep close to loved ones.
Barry has spent the day repairing some wind damage but also using his new toy, an industrial strimmer, to clear huge bramble overgrowth in the wooded area at the bottom of the garden where we intend to keep chickens.
A quick dog walk after the baking session and back to clear the kitchen devastation caused by the baking and the sun was still shining!
