Stars and Stripes

Unbelievable jumble of lines poles and sticks here..…  there were 2 small American flags up high but I added the one we have flying from our condo since it is Memorial Day and we are honoring all the men and women who served this country.      My Dad was too old for WWII but he was in the Coast Guard “defending” Lake Michigan north of Chicago in the 40s.   H was in the Public Health Service, missing Viet Nam, thank goodness.   
Extra:  I found a few photos from maybe 1949 or so…the bike could be decorated for memorial day or the 4th of July but I think this parade of brownie scouts was Memorial Day and so therefore the bike too, in front of our house and flag in Wilmette, Illinois.   Back in the days when we had different feelings about America..........
