Buttery Abundance

Deb and Sam manning our church's foodbank today, so took the kids out to another part of Newhall, and had our sandwiches sitting on the grass, surrounded by buttercups. And then went down into the stream and walked along it, over the stones, looking for "treasure" - we found a dog ball, a rubber band, and a golf ball.

Idyllic, apart from the argument Mike and I had after we missed each other for ages after I got out of the car with the kids before the carpark; I was with the kids on a hot day with no water and no phone, plus, was worrying that something had happened to him.

Oh, and the kids and I picked elderflower heads; they wanted to make cordial - it is now infusing for 24 hours, but already tastes good.

Came home via the "corner" shop, where I popped in and got them both ice-cream cones, seemed an appropriate ending.

Gratefuls:
- such beauty, so abundantly given
- that we found each other in the end, and he was OK
- a long video call with Ermelinda and Cecílio, that all is well in Mourão, and we are missed
