Sgwarnog: In the Field

Skipper

I've been looking out for these for the past week so it was nice to get my first Large Skipper of the year today, a week earlier than last year.

It was another warm and sunny afternoon, but I just had a short walk down to the woods and back as it's a work day. I suppose I could be going out for evening walks but I haven't quite got used to going out more than once a day, and evenings are not so good for butterflies.  I also saw my first Cinnabar moth of the year and one or two Orange-tip, Small White, Peacock and Comma. I also heard some chicks cheeping from a hole in a tree but didn't see any adults coming or going.
