Abstract Thursday (Thursday 28th May 2020)

I have been making abstract versions of this shot today - although it was taken on a wander round the front yard on Thursday. This was made using an online Van Gogh filter, as I hope you can probably tell, and involved very little actual work from me. The theme for Abstract Thursday this week is 'Painterly'. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Stevie Wonder - We Can Work It Out (recording completed 15 June 1969, Detroit MI, for Tamla)
My most recent Tamla Motown acquisition was a second hand set of Motown Chartbusters Volumes 4-6, and this was on Volume 6, which I played on this day. It comes from his 1970 album Signed, Sealed And Delivered but he had begun recording the track in 1966, playing most of the instruments himself. The song was mostly composed by Paul McCartney of course and he was the first musician to multi-track his own playing over a whole pop solo album, possibly the inspiration for Stevie Wonder's tribute. Like all the best covers it takes a markedly different approach from the original, all the melancholy and wistfulness having been surgically removed.
