Cucumber Green

J came into the room to chat about a few things, still wearing her hat. I was distracted by the bright green invertebrate walking around the hat’s rim and tried to capture it, but it had set a line of silk and took itself back to the hat. So I took it and the hat outside.

It turns out to be Aranietta Cucurbitina, a green orb weave spider also known as the Cucumber Green Spider ( it’s spidery form better seen in the extra).

In its normal habitat, amongst the greenery, it can sit on its little web unseen in plain sight.
