A munching Mullein moth caterpillar

Today I discovered a number of mullein moth caterpillars on the dwarf buddleia tree in my garden.  I've seen the way that they can strip a plant and apparently they're partial to buddleia.  I picked them off (or at least all that I could find) and put them in a box together with some leaves off the tree and deposited them on some waste ground where there are a good variety of plants.

This afternoon there was a knock on my door. It was the little boy from across the road going round the neighbours leaving a box containing two brownies that he had made. What a kind gesture, I shall enjoy those for pudding!
