My topsy-turvy life

Lockdown breakout

I'd floated the idea maybe a couple of weeks ago or more that we could look at popping over to my Mom & Dad's and have a socially distanced picnic in the back garden.
With some of the lockdown rules being relaxed slightly, and it being perfect picnic weather to boot, today seemed like as good a time as any to try it out.

It all worked to a certain extent. We took a Duplo train for Owen to play with to distract him, which he absolutely loved, dragging it all over the patio. But it's just quite hard to socially distance properly with an exuberant toddler wanting to share everything and show everything and a camera happy Grandad wanting to take lots of pictures.  It was lovely to see them in person again though after nearly 3 months.

It also gave them chance to give Louisa her birthday presents belatedly, and on the same day that her present from Owen, for Owen finally arrived*.

A lovely day, let's just hope it's not another 11 weeks till we can do it again.
